1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They can be “session” cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or “persistent” cookies (kept until they expire or you delete them). Similar technologies include browser local storage used by the Service for drafts and UI preferences.
2. Cookies we set on FESIT

Measures visits and page views on FESIT (audience and usage statistics) via our
self-hosted Matomo instance at analytics.dorple.me (site ID 4).
Admin pages (/admin) are not tracked. Browser Do Not Track signals are respected.

Exact Matomo cookie names may vary with the Matomo version. Session and guest cookies are set as HttpOnly where applicable and use SameSite=Lax (Secure on HTTPS) to reduce cross-site risk.
3. Similar technologies (local storage)
The Service may store small amounts of data in your browser’s local storage (not cookies). This stays on your device and is used only to improve the product experience:
- Form drafts (
fesit-draft:…) — restores non-secret form fields on/appand/adminafter a session timeout or re-login (passwords and hidden fields are not stored); - First-run tour (
fesit.ftue.dashboard.v1.…) — remembers that you finished or skipped the dashboard tour for an organisation.
You can clear local storage in your browser settings. Doing so does not log you out but may reset drafts and show the tour again.
4. Third parties you may encounter
- Cap — after repeated failed logins (when Cap is enabled), a challenge widget is served from this site. Cap may set its own cookies or storage on Cap’s domain to run the challenge. We do not use Cap for advertising.
- Mollie — paid plan checkout redirects you to Mollie to pay. Mollie may set
cookies on its own domains under Mollie’s policies. FESIT does not set Mollie cookies on
fesit.eu.
5. Consent
Strictly necessary session and guest cookies do not require a consent banner. For Matomo analytics we use a privacy-oriented, self-hosted configuration (including honouring Do Not Track). We do not use advertising or social-media cookies. If we introduce additional non-essential tracking, we will update this policy and request consent where required before setting those cookies.
6. Managing cookies and storage
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, and you can enable Do Not Track.
If you block the session cookie, you will not be able to log in or use authenticated features.
If you block fesit_guest, guest drafts will not persist across visits.
Public pages such as the tool catalog remain usable without an account. Blocking Matomo
cookies may limit our ability to measure aggregate usage; it does not prevent you from
using FESIT.
7. Changes
We may update this policy when our cookie or storage use changes. The “Last updated” date will be revised.
